30 YEAR SOCAL ROCK RADIO FIXTURE

UNCLE JOE BENSON

BRINGS THE ROCK

“Off The Record”

It’s a long way to the top if you want to rock and roll”… and everyone’s favorite Rock & Roll Uncle, Joe Benson, has been talking with every significant Classic Rock artist to ever climb that mountain! On the air since 1968, and a family member to millions of SoCal rock radio listeners for the past 30+ years, Uncle Joe has also been busy entertaining the rock masses on Westwood One’s nationally syndicated “Off The Record” program since 1998. What’s more, J.B. has complimented his efforts with the Uncle Joe’s Record Guide series of rock history books since 1986.

I’m really excited about the next three “Off The Record” shows… stories from old friends about the shear joy of creating music – with lots of laughs in the telling” Uncle Joe declares! Not only will tasty cuts be served from the forthcoming sophomore Chickenfoot release ‘III,’ but Sammy Hagar, Michael Anthony and Joe Satriani will join Benson in the studio for madness and mayhem that’s barely legal on the radio! “But that’s only the beginning – we’re just getting warmed up,” J.B. continues. The following week, Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason joins Joe for “Off The Record” to ponder the eternal question, “Why Pink Floyd?” – the new collection of remastered music, demos and live recordings from the Floyd. “Don’t sit down yet!” Joe adds. With all of Hollywood abuzz last week over Alice Cooper’s live performance at the Whiskey, of course he had to join Joe for “Off The Record” to feature brand new ear-candy from his much anticipated sequel, “Welcome 2 My Nightmare.” Stories told by the men that lived them!
